The Waters Family
In January 1964, my wife Mary, our 6 month old daughter Sharon and I left Adelaide and our families to start a new life in Leigh Creek. We really had no idea what we were going to apart from my brief visit before Christmas in 1963 to see if I would like the position of Production Clerk on the Coalfield, and I guess to let the Leigh Creek people liked me for the position. We left in our FJ Holden, with a loaded trailer, Sharon on the back seat in her bassinet, chooks in the trailer, our new puppy “Spotty”, our new kitten “Puss”, our budgie “George” and a whole lot of enthusiasm and speculation about the future - Kevin Waters
